Bolingbrook teen dies following basketball game

Authorities say a Bolingbrook teen with an undiagnosed heart condition died after collapsing during a basketball game.

According to the Will County coroner, 13-year-old Dramon Ratcliff collapsed during a game at game at Plainfield Central High School on Wednesday and later died at a Joliet hospital.

A Plainfield school district spokesman tells The (Joliet) Herald-News that Ratcliff was practicing with a private basketball team at the high school on Wednesday.

The spokesman says Ratcliff was an eighth-grade student at John F. Kennedy Middle School in Plainfield. He says the teen was an honor roll student who played basketball for the middle school in both seventh and eighth grade.

The coroner says toxicology results are still pending.
