Hertha Berlin fires coach Jos Luhukay

BERLIN (AP) - Hertha Berlin says it has fired coach Jos Luhukay after three straight Bundesliga losses.

Luhukay's departure was sealed by the 1-0 home loss to Bayer Leverkusen on Wednesday.

The 51-year-old Dutchman took over after Berlin's relegation in 2012 and guided the team straight back to the top flight. Hertha finished 11th last season.

The team has dropped to next-to-last after conceding eight goals and scoring none in the last three matches.

Former Hertha player Pal Dardai and former assistant coach Rainer Widmayer will guide the team at Mainz on Saturday.
