Five Libertyville candidates:

The number of candidates running for village trustee in Libertyville grew to five this week with the addition of Thomas Beyer, an investment executive, who filed Tuesday as a write-in for the 4-year seat. Beyer joins write-ins Peter Garrity and Angela Trillhaase, as well as incumbents Scott Adams and Donna Johnson. Initially, Adams and Johnson were the only candidates for three seats until the write-ins filed. Beyer, who has lived in Libertyville for 25 years, said it is his first time running for elected office. "I built my business and am an empty nester. I want to give back to the community a little bit," he said.
