Imrem: Imagine that Super game in Chicago blizzard

Some unfinished business from Super Bowl XLIX:

Was anything missing from the Patriots' 28-24 victory over the Seahawks?

Yes, the game should have been in Chicago.

What fun it would have been if the game was played with the snow falling and the wind chill plunging.

The NFL set a precedent last year by playing a Super Bowl outdoors in a cold-weather city.

Seriously, it would have been great to see Tom Brady trying to air out the football in wintry conditions, Russell Wilson sliding around like a toddler on ice skates, and coaches strategizing with numb skulls.

The NFL could steal the "Winter Classic" designation from the NHL.

What was the best Super Bowl ad?

The Top Five among the ones I had time to watch between bathroom visits:

1. The flying pig for Doritos

2. The blue pill for Fiat

3. Pierce Brosnan for Kia

4. Middle seat for Doritos

5. Mood for love for Victoria's Secret (really No. 1 but politically incorrect to say so)

Speaking of coaches with numb skulls, did Pete Carroll lose this game for Seattle?

You're referring to throwing a pass from New England's 1-yard line instead of handing the ball off to Beast Mode Lynch.

Sorry, but doing something Marc Trestman might have done doesn't automatically make it incorrect.

In the NFL this season, 109 passes were thrown from the 1 and this was the first to be intercepted. Lynch ran five times from the 1 and scored on one of them.

Poor execution is the only reason the call was wrong.

Why are so many coming down so hard on Carroll?

Many believe that the Seattle coach is a cheater after coaching USC onto NCAA probation and that his arrogant act is phony.

Maybe that's justified. But Carroll still is one of the best coaches on any level of football.

Let's put it another way: If the Seahawks fire him today, the Bears should hire him to replace John Fox tomorrow.

It would be outstanding to have a coach in Chicago with Carroll's energetic, enthusiastic, entertaining manner.

Plus, to dislike Pete Carroll for cheating in college football is like disliking a bus driver for driving a bus.

Was Tom Brady the right pick for MVP?

No, Katy Perry would have been.

So you're a fan of her singing?

Oh, yeah, that too.

Does Sunday's performance make Brady the best quarterback ever?

Here is a fluid list of the best during the Super Bowl era:

1. John Elway

2. Tom Brady

3. Joe Montana

4. Rex Grossman

5. Brett Favre

Elway would have been just as successful on all of the teams the others played on.

The others wouldn't have been just as successful on those five Denver teams that Elway took to Super Bowls.

Is Seattle now out of the running for best defense of the Super Bowl era?

Yes, if the Seahawks ever were in the running to begin with.

The best for one season are:

1. 2000 Ravens

2. 1985 Bears

3. Any of the Steel Curtain Steelers championship teams

The best over a few years:

1. The 1970s Steelers

2. The 1980s Bears

3. Everyone else

Do you consider yourself an expert after picking the Patriots to win?

Absolutely, now that my record is up to 6-43 over the XLIX Super Bowls.
