Plainfield construction worker dies in Wilmington accident

WILMINGTON, Ill. (AP) - Officials in Wilmington say a construction worker has died after being pinned between a beam and a lift.

Wilmington Police Chief Phillip Arnold tells The (Joliet) Herald-News (http://bit.ly/1BUdS1d ) that 33-year-old Patrick C. Wilda of Plainfield was found Friday. Arnold says Wilda was in the lift he was working in at the time.

Other workers performed CPR until Wilmington firefighters arrived. Wilda was taken to a Joliet hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The Will County coroner performed an autopsy Wednesday and said a cause of death will be determined pending an investigation.

Wilmington police, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration and Illinois State Police are investigating.
