No. 11 Arizona State women beat Utah 58-48

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Katie Hempen and Promise Amukamara scored 11 points apiece and No. 11 Arizona State held off a game Utah squad 58-48 on Sunday.

The game was close statistically, but the Sun Devils held an advantage at the line, making 16 of 19, while Utah was just 3 of 8.

No. 11 Arizona State (20-2, 9-1 Pac-12) trailed much of the first half. Elisha Davis' 3-pointer with 2:28 put the Sun Devils up and they scored the last eight points of the half and led 26-20 at the break.

ASU has held the opposition to 25 or fewer points in a half 16 times this season.

Utah (7-14, 1-9) got the deficit to two twice in after intermission, but never got over the hump.

Taneaya Boclair led the Utes with 15 points on 7-of-13 shooting. Danielle Rodriguez added 13 points and five assists.
