Pageant winner visits her roots in Huntley

Taylor Larsen, the reigning Miss Illinois U.S. International, visited Leggee Elementary School in Huntley Friday to talk about pursuing one's dreams.

Larsen, a 2014 graduate of Huntley High School and former Leggee student who is now studying biology at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, spoke to the approximately 1,200 students in attendance. A slideshow presentation was followed by a question-and-answer session during which several students spoke about their dreams for the future.

The event capped a week of discussions inspired by Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech.
