K9 naming contest expanded:
The Lake County Sheriff's office announced it is expanding it's contest to name three new dogs the K9 unit will receive. This week, the office announced the contest for Lake County middle school students in unincorporated areas of the county. However, due to what sheriff's officials said was "the overwhelming enthusiasm" expressed by schools outside of the sheriff's jurisdiction, the decision was made to expand the Rookie K9 Naming Contest to all Lake County middle school students - public, parochial and home-schooled.
