DC Todd Grantham spurns NFL's Raiders to stay at Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Louisville defensive coordinator Todd Grantham is staying with the Cardinals after turning down a similar position with the Oakland Raiders.

Grantham had interviewed with the Raiders, but the Cardinals announced Wednesday that he was committed to Louisville.

He says "when I came to Louisville that I thought we could win a national championship, and we are building toward that goal with the success we had this season."

Louisville switched to a 3-4 alignment under Grantham and ranked in the top-10 nationally in several categories in his first season. The team was No. 1 with 26 interceptions and sixth with 308.5 yards allowed per game.

Coach Bobby Petrino says "we're very pleased and happy that Todd is going to be staying at the University of Louisville."
