Reliever Jenrry Mejia, Mets get 1-year deal, no arbitration

NEW YORK (AP) - Reliever Jenrry Mejia and the New York Mets reached agreement Wednesday on a one-year contract worth $2,595,000 and avoided salary arbitration.

Mejia made $509,675 last year. He asked for $3 million this season and the team offered $2.1 million.

The right-hander went 6-6 with 28 saves and a 3.65 ERA in 63 games last year.

First baseman Lucas Duda is the last Mets player left in arbitration.
