Buffalo Grove Orchesis to hold annual dance clinic for area youth

Buffalo Grove High School invites all fourth- through eighth-grade boys and girls to its 6th Annual Orchesis Dance Clinic from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14.

The clinic is $25 per participant, and includes two master classes with the Buffalo Grove High School Orchesis dancers, a T-shirt and a snack and the opportunity to perform for a parent audience at 12:30 p.m. that day in the theater.

Under the direction of Michelle Carrison, assisted by Jamie Kapsimalis, Orchesis is in its 42nd year as a dance program and co-curricular activity.

The coed group encourages opportunities to perform and choreograph all dance art forms, including ballet, jazz, hip-hop, modern, break-dancing, lyrical, tap, character, multicultural and more.

Orchesis performs at halftime football games, assemblies, District 214 dance events and was previously selected to perform in the half-time show of the nationally televised Orange Bowl.

The clinic will be held at the school's Miller Theater at 1100 W. Dundee Road in Buffalo Grove. Clinic participants should enter the school at Door #1 and meet in the theater.
