3 contestants win annual Pure Michigan Hunt contest

LANSING, Mich. (AP) - Three contestants have been named winners of the sixth annual Pure Michigan Hunt and will receive a number of licenses and more than $4,000 worth of gear.

The Department of Natural Resources says the winners are Mike DiLorenzo of Rochester, Jason Eurich of Saginaw and Michael Sikkenga of Whitehall.

Each winner receives elk, bear, spring and fall turkey, and antlerless deer licenses to be used this year.

Also, they get first pick opening morning of the waterfowl season at any of Michigan's premier Managed Waterfowl Hunt Areas.

Among the gear donated by businesses and organizations are hunting garments, a camouflage pop-up blind, a shotgun, a crossbow, guided hunts and gift cards.

The next application period begins March 1. The contest helps fund wildlife habitat restoration.
