Tennessee's Hurd has underage-drinking case resolved
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - The underage drinking charge against Tennessee football player Jalen Hurd has been dismissed after he paid court costs, performed community service and completed an alcohol education course.
Hurd's attorney, Tommy Hindman, provided evidence at the Knox County General Sessions Court on Thursday that Hurd had completed over 24 hours of community service, paid $221 in court costs and taken the necessary course.
Hurd, who turns 19 years old on Friday, was cited for underage drinking Dec. 3 by University of Tennessee police.
Hurd rushed for 899 yards and five touchdowns as a freshman this past season while helping Tennessee go 7-6 and win the TaxSlayer Bowl.
