Monaco, Saint-Etienne progress in French Cup

PARIS (AP) - Monaco remained on course for four trophies with a 2-0 defeat of fellow top-flight side Evian on Wednesday, while Saint-Etienne wasted a two-goal lead before overcoming second-tier Rouen 5-3 in the French Cup.

Lucas Ocampos and substitute Anthony Martial scored second-half goals as Monaco advanced to the last 16 and extended its unbeaten run to 11 matches in all competitions. Fifth in the league, Leonardo Jardim's side also remains in contention in the Champions League and the League Cup.

Monaco dominated from the start and Ocampos put the hosts ahead in the 63rd before Martial made the most of a quick counterattack two minutes from time.

At Rouen, Saint-Etienne withstood a late rally from the hosts before coming through in extra time with goals from Mevlut Erding and Kevin Monnet-Paquet.
