Alcohol likely played role in fatal snowmobile accident

TOWN OF NEWBOLD, Wis. (AP) - The Oneida County Sheriff's Office says alcohol was likely a factor in a snowmobile accident that killed a 45-year-old Minocqua man.

According to a press release, Jesse Wiesendanger died Monday from injuries sustained in the Jan. 14 incident. The sheriff's office says the accident was reported late that night on a trail in the Town of Newbold.

The office says Wiesendanger was found lying in the middle of the trail near Highway 70, while his snowmobile was discovered in some trees nearby.
