Repeat player of the week honor for Harper's Benton
For the second time in as many weeks, Davion Benton has been named NJCAA Region IV, Division III men's basketball player of the week.
The Harper forward averaged 16.5 points and 14.5 rebounds while averaging 3 steals per game in the Hawks' two games last week.
The freshman's top scoring performance of 20 points came Wednesday in a 66-60 victory over Wright College.
On Saturday, Benton came away with 5 steals in the Hawks' 74-51 loss to host College of DuPage.
The Hawks are 1-3 in the North Central Community College Conference entering Wednesday's matchup with the No.6-ranked team in the NJCAA, Joliet Junior College.
Hawks leading scorer Admir Suljic has also won Region IV player of the week awards twice this season.
