St. Viator prevails in tri meet

St. Viator had three individuals win two races apiece and the Lions won both freestyle relays to come out out on top in a triangular boys swimming meet with host Illinois Math and Science Academy and Elgin on Tuesday.

Michael Balcerak, Keegan Finn and Mitchell Warren each won twice individually for the Lions, who finished with 133 points. IMSA came in at 114 and Elgin had 50.

Balcerak was tops in the 50-yard freestyle (22.36) and the 100 free (48.84); Finn was best in the 200 IM (2:14.01) and 100 fly (58.63) and Warren won the 200 free (1:57.97) and 500 free (5:19.11).

IMSA's top finish came in the 100 breaststroke, where Brodie Mikuta won in 1:03.84, and Elgin got a third-place finish in the 100 free from Pablo Chavez (54.83).
