Linden Cello Duo debuts on Oakton stage
Two talented cellists team up for a debut performance at Oakton Community College's Footlik Theater, 1600 East Golf Road, Des Plaines, at 8 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 31.
The Linden Cello Duo consists of Oakton cello instructor Alexa Muhly and Lyric Opera cellist William Cernota. Muhly has performed in the United States, Canada, England, France, Germany, Hungary, and Lithuania, and is an active orchestral and chamber musician in the Chicago area. She was the principal cellist of the Kalamazoo Symphony and has also performed at Carnegie Hall in New York. A regular substitute with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra at Orchestra Hall and Ravina, Cernota has performed Schubert's Arpeggione Sonata on a nationwide live broadcast by Chicago's WFMT-FM.
