Bears hire Lucas as player personnel director

CHICAGO (AP) - The Chicago Bears have hired Josh Lucas as director of player personnel.

Lucas spent 10 seasons in the New Orleans Saints personnel department working with new Bears general manager Ryan Pace. He spent the past eight as a scout for them.

He joins a team that finished 5-11 and fired coach Marc Trestman. John Fox was hired as coach on Friday after splitting with the Denver Broncos.

Lucas also worked for the Jacksonville Jaguars from 2002-04 and graduated Cum Laude from Harvard University, where he played safety from 1997-98.

The Bears announced the move on Sunday.
