Grayslake Library to present radio comedy Jan. 25

The Grayslake Area Public Library is excited to have Those Were the Days Radio Players perform from 3-4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 25. This concert is free and all ages are welcome. The library is at 100 Library Lane, Grayslake.

Return to the bygone days of old-time radio as Those Were the Days Radio Players of Lake County performs the radio version of "The IRS Pays a Visit" from "The Jack Benny Show." This screwball comedy has IRS agents questioning Benny on some fishy entertainment deductions, and when the true story of these charges is revealed they bring to light Benny's frugal ways.

Those Were the Days Radio Players of Lake County perform dramatic comedy scripts from the 1930s to the '50s including the classic commercials. Audience members will enjoy learning how special effects were created for old-time radio and see charming, entertaining and engaging show for the whole family.
