'Mrs. Noah' comes to life in 'Whose Ark Is It, Anyway?'

Most people know the Bible story about Noah, the ark and the flood. But have you ever wondered how Noah's wife - let's call her "Mrs. Noah" because the Bible does not list her by name - felt about this adventure?

Women will enjoy "Whose Ark Is It, Anyway?" a lighthearted perspective on this famous Bible story, when they "set sail" with Mary Hobein, who tells the tale from Mrs. Noah's perspective.

The event starts at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 23, in the Lighthouse room in St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 1500 Brookdale Road, Naperville. Hobein wrote this one-woman show.

Reservations for the interactive program are encouraged by Wednesday, Jan. 21, because seating is limited to 75 people. Admission is $10, payable at the door.

Hobein is an actress, singer and storyteller whose other writing credits include "Suffragette Queens: A Strange Conversation Between Victoria Woodhull and Elizabeth Cady Stanton."

Hobein has performed in many theatrical and musical organizations throughout the Chicago area, among which are the First Folio Shakespeare Festival, Stage Right Dinner Theatre, DuPage Opera Theatre, the Savoy-Aires Light Opera Company and the Mystery Shop.

She also "improvs" the character of Professor Trelawney, making her outrageous prophecies for Harry Potter fans.

"Whose Ark Is It, Anyway?" is sponsored by the Sophia's Circle of St. Thomas the Apostle, a ministry that offers three micro-retreats yearly for women to explore topics related to spiritual reconnections of faith in a three-hour evening format. Each evening's program begins with wine and light refreshments.
