Hines-Allen leads No. 6 Louisville past Wake Forest
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP) - Myisha Hines-Allen had 20 points and 10 rebounds to help No. 6 Louisville rally in the second half to beat Wake Forest 79-68 on Sunday.
Mariya Moore added 16 points, Bria Smith 13 and Shawnta Dyer 10 for the Cardinals (15-1, 3-0 ACC), who were down 11 at the half before earning their seventh straight.
Dearica Hamby had 14 points and 11 rebounds for the Deacons (9-8, 0-3), who shot 55.6 percent in the first half to take a 42-31 lead.
But Louisville's defense forced Wake Forest into 13 second-half turnovers, leading to 14 points, and the Cardinals made 15 of 23 from the free throw line.
That allowed Louisville to rally, tying the score at 59-59 on Dyer's layup with 8:39 left. The Cardinals took the lead for good 42 seconds later on Hines-Allen's layup.
Amber Campbell added 15 points and Nicole Floyd 11 for the Deacons, who have lost three straight.
Louisville - 10th in the nation in scoring at 80.5 points per game - didn't display a lot of offense in the first half against Wake Forest, struggling early.
The Cardinals missed 10 of their first 11 shots and were just 3 of 15 from the field over the first five minutes. That allowed the Deacons to take control, going up by six points and stretching it from there.
Wake Forest went on to shoot 55.6 percent (15 of 27) in the first half, while Louisville was just 14 of 42 (33.3 percent). The Deacons also enjoyed an advantage at the free throw line, making 11 of 16, while the Cardinals went 1 of 3.
Still, Louisville made a late run, cutting a 10-point Wake Forest lead down to 34-29 with 2:48 remaining. But the Deacons closed out the half on an 8-2 run, with Taylor's layup with 1 second remaining giving them an 11-point halftime lead.

Louisville: Counting preseason rankings, the Cardinals have been in the AP Top 25 for 68 consecutive weeks, dating to the opening week of the 2011-2012 season. In all, Louisville has appeared in the Top 25 110 times during coach Jeff Walz's tenure, which began with the 2007-2008 season.
Wake Forest: The Deacons have now lost 16 consecutive games to Top 10 teams, dating back to the closing week of the 2011-2012 season. Wake Forest's last win over a Top 10 team came on March 2, 2012, when the Deacons upset then-No. 7 Miami (Fla.) 81-74 in the second round of the ACC Tournament.
