NDSU football team wins record 4th straight national title

FARGO, N.D. (AP) - The North Dakota State University football team has won its fourth straight FCS championship with a 29-27 victory Saturday.

The Bison defeated Illinois State in the Football Championship Subdivision title game in Frisco, Texas.

Quarterback Carson Wentz ran 5 yards for the winning touchdown about a minute after Tre Roberson's 58-yard run put Illinois State ahead, and the Bison became the first team to win four straight FCS championships.

North Dakota Gov. Jack Dalrymple congratulated the team in a statement. Dalrymple says Saturday's victory has "further solidified NDSU's legacy in American college football."
