Chicago cab driver convicted of sexual assault

CHICAGO (AP) - A Chicago cab driver has been convicted of sexually assaulting a woman in an alley during a robbery attempt.

The Cook County State's Attorney's Office says 30-year-old Admon Shasho was found guilty of aggravated criminal sexual assault and attempted robbery for the April 2012 attack.

Prosecutors say Sasho was on duty in his cab when he spotted the woman listening to music on her phone as she walked to her home in the Lincoln Square neighborhood.

They say he got out of his cab and tried to grab the woman's phone, telling her he had a knife. He then pushed her to the ground and sexually assaulted her.

Shasho fled when a witness confronted him.

Police arrested him minutes later, and the victim identified him as the attacker.
