Driving Range to hold food drive in Libertyville

The Driving Range at the Libertyville Sports Complex will be sponsoring a food drive through the end of January to benefit the Libertyville Township Food Pantry.

People can donate canned and nonperishable food items at the Sports Complex Driving Range, and those who donate two or more food items will receive a 15 percent discount off the purchase of any priced Golf Range Card for each food donation visit.

"The LSC Driving Range food drive will really help our efforts, particularly at this time of the year," said Kathleen O'Connor, supervisor of Libertyville Township.

"Our pantry needs to be restocked all year long, particularly as we approach the winter months, so the Libertyville Sports Complex Driving Range Food Drive is perfect timing to help those who need food."

"A food drive at our Driving Range is a perfect twosome," said Conrad "Connie" Kowal, director of the Libertyville Sports Complex. "We are hoping to help the Libertyville Township Food Pantry in a big way."

The Driving Range at the Libertyville Sports Complex is open every day, 12 months a year, with winter hours from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. It is the only "full flight" Driving Range in Lake County open during the winter months and features heated, automated tee stations and lights.

The LSC Driving Range is at the corner of Peterson Road and Route 45 on the northwest side of Libertyville.
