Sporting News picks Cubs to win the World Series

This year is the year for the Cubs, according to one national publication.

Sporting News Yearbook has picked the Cubs to win the 2015 World Series, and it's not just because of Back To The Future 2.

In "Why we picked the Cubs to win the 2015 World Series," the website cites the additions of manager Joe Maddon and pitcher Jon Lester, some solid arms in the bullpen and a deep farm system to go with Anthony Rizzo and Starlin Castro.

The Cubs (73-89) finished last in the NL Central last season.

In 2014, the Sporting News Yearbook predicted the Los Angeles Dodgers would defeat the Texas Rangers in the World Series, but neither team made it to the AL or NL championship series. The San Francisco Giants defeated the Kansas City Royals in the World Series.

Pitchers and catchers report Feb. 19.
