Sloan gets naming rights to Cubs training stadium

Franklin Park-based Sloan Valve Co. said Thursday it has signed a multiyear deal for the naming rights of Cubs Park, the Chicago Cubs' spring training stadium in Mesa, Ariz.

The stadium will be named Sloan Park. In addition to the Mesa deal, Sloan will have advertising signs by the visiting team's bullpen at Wrigley Field in Chicago.

Sloan President Jim Allen declined to say how much the deal was worth or how many years it would continue. A spokesman for the Chicago Cubs was not immediately available for comment.

Sloan, a global manufacturer of water-efficient electronic faucets, soap dispensers and other products, has been in operation for 109 years and is run by the fourth generation of the family that founded the company.

The Cubs will use Sloan's products in the newly named Sloan Park in Mesa and as well as inside Wrigley Field and its surrounding facilities as part of the construction.

"The stadium is a terrific showcase for our products," Allen said.

"Teaming up with Sloan - another family-owned company based in Chicago with more than a century of history - is an important move for the Cubs as we look to provide clean and sustainable water solutions for our facilities in both Mesa and Chicago," Cubs Chairman Tom Ricketts said in a statement.
