Fire damages Naperville home

A fire extensively damaged a Naperville home Wednesday afternoon, but nobody was injured, fire officials say.

Firefighters responded to the fire just before 3 p.m. in the 1400 block of Duquesne Avenue and arrived to smoke and fire coming from the first floor of a single-family house, Naperville fire officials said in a statement.

Firefighters brought the blaze under control within 20 minutes, officials said. The home sustained extensive damage and was deemed uninhabitable.

Two occupants were evaluated at the scene but did not require further medical treatment. No firefighters were injured, despite the extremely cold weather.
