'The Interview' was just a stupid idea

I'm shocked at what I'm hearing concerning the fallout from the Seth Rogen, movie, "The Interview," that is supposedly a comedy about the assassination of the North Korean Leader, Kim Jong Un.

Tell me, when did it become appropriate to use the assassination of any country's leader as fodder for humor? What is funny about killing the head of state of any country? This is not an issue of free speech, the issue is bad taste and very bad judgment on the part of the moviemakers and the production company, Sony.

This stupid movie sure isn't worth going to war over. I still remember the outcry by the United States government over the movie that insulted the Muslims that led to riots in the Middle East in September, 2012. Have we forgotten that time already? It's neither funny nor smart to insult a large group of people, or a country in this case.

North Korea has the bomb and they also have missiles capable of delivering the bomb to places like Japan. Sony is a Japanese company. Is it wise to tick off a dictator that has a history of being unstable? Are we looking for more trouble in this world? Don't we already have enough with Iraq, Syria and ISIS. Do we really want more problems?

That movie should never have been made. Even stupid has its limits. This is just plain stupid. Are we going to continue to be stupid and keep ratcheting up the heat on this mess? It was a very bad idea and it was a mistake.
