Social media lessons for parents in Grayslake

Social media lessons for parents of teenagers and those a little younger will be offered at the Grayslake Area Public Library on Monday, Jan. 19.

The hourlong program begins at 6:30 p.m. with an overview of the most popular social media sites for teens and tweens. Parents will learn why their children can't live without the sites and what they typically do on them.

Plans also call for the evening to feature tips on using and monitoring the social media sites to keep kids safe. Attendees are asked to bring a laptop computer or tablet, if possible.

The library is located at 100 Library Lane, Grayslake.
