Celebrate New Year early at Lake County Discovery Museum

Parents looking for things to do with their children during holiday break can attend a special New Year's celebration event at the Lake County Discovery Museum from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday and Tuesday.

Children who attend the event, called "Ring in the New Year," will make a variety of crafts and party favors. At noon, everyone will practice ringing in the New Year with a ball drop.

The event is free with museum admission and is intended for all ages. the museum is located in the Lakewood Forest Preserve, 27277 N. Forest Preserve Road, Wauconda.
