Winchester House celebrates with bingo, prizes

Bingo is played daily at the Winchester House in Libertyville, but Thursday's games were made special with the addition of food, presents and prizes.

Many elderly residents of the Lake County-run facility had family members visiting as well, said staff member Elena Gutierrez.

"It's an exciting day today," Gutierrez said.

"Today is Christmas Day, so we have a lot of family visiting."

Approximately 70 residents and family members participated in the bingo games. Prizes included fleece blankets and various plush items.

Residents were also treated to a roast beef lunch.

"It's not a white Christmas, but it's a good day," Gutierrez said.
