OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - One of two people pulled by Omaha firefighters from the basement of a burning boarding house has died.

The Omaha Fire Department says the woman died Tuesday at Nebraska Medical Center. A man who also was found in the boarding house's basement was taken to Creighton University Medical Center for treatment.

Their names haven't been released.

Firefighters were called to the house near 22nd and M streets around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Omaha Fire Battalion Chief Tim McCaw says the fire started in the basement, but it's not clear how it started.
