D214 administrator honored at White House

Dustin Seemann, District 214's coordinator for student services, will be recognized at the White House Jan. 30 for being a 2015 American School Counselor Association School Counselor of the Year semifinalist. He was nominated by the Illinois School Counselor Association, and this is the second time Seemann has been awarded semifinalist in the national contest. He also won ISCA's Secondary School Counselor of the Year award in 2012. Seemann was a counselor at Prospect High School for six years before being promoted this year to the districtwide position. In Washington D.C. he will attend the School Counselor of the Year Gala, a black-tie awards ceremony at Washington's historic Union Station.
