Police search for shooter in Montgomery

Montgomery police are looking for a person who shot and killed a 28-year-old Chicago man Thursday night.

Police responded about 6 p.m. to the intersection of Montgomery Road and Fourth Street for a report of shots fired and a man down. When they arrived, they found a victim, later identified as Jesus Garcia Jr., lying in the street. He was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said in a news release.

Authorities from a number of law enforcement agencies conducted an exhaustive search of the area but did not locate a suspect.

The Montgomery Police Department was assisted by the Aurora Police Department, Illinois State Police, Oswego Police Department, Fox Valley Park District, Kane and Kendall County sheriff's office, Kane County coroner's office, and helicopters from the Cook County sheriff's office and Chicago Police Department.
