DePaul women rout Loyola, 109-84
Jessica January scored a career-high 25 points and six DePaul players finished in double-figures as the No. 25 DePaul women's basketball team defeated Loyola 109-84 on Wednesday at Gentile Arena.
Former Hersey star Megan Rogowski reached the 20-point mark for the first time this season and finished with 21 points, hitting 6-of-8 shots from behind the 3-point arc. Brittany Hrynko contributed 8 assists and 15 points. Megan Podkowa and Mart'e Grays had 14 points apiece, and Chanise Jenkins added 10 points for DePaul.
The Blue Demons tied a school record with 16 3-pointers and shot 49 percent from behind the arc and shot nearly 53 percent from the field. DePaul also had a season-best 30 assists.
The 109 points were the most the Blue Demons had scored since 2007. The Blue Demons led 58-51 at the half.
Loyola was led in scoring by Becca Taylor with 21 points.
DePaul returns to the court with a road game against No. 2 Connecticut on Friday.
