High-ranking Prairie Crossing grads:

Officials at Prairie Crossing Charter School in Grayslakes announced Tuesday that several graduates are topping academic charts in high school. Officials said 18 alumni from the eighth-grade Class of 2011 have been recognized as Illinois State Scholars for their senior year in high school. The Illinois Student Assistance Commission, a state agency committed to helping to make college accessible and affordable for Illinois families, bestows the prestigious recognition to top Illinois high school students annually. Illinois State Scholars represent about the top 10 percent of high school seniors statewide. Selection is based on SAT, ACT or Prairie State Achievement Exam scores. If applicable, class rank also factors into the process.
