Helander honored by local GOP
Former Lake County Clerk Willard Helander has received a newly created award from the West Deerfield Township Republican Party. Helander was given the group's Trench Warrior Leadership Award at a recent luncheon. Helander was recognized for her leadership and customer service, officials said. Helander left office this month after 20 years.
