Bring Congressional reps back home

Bring Congressional reps back home

I think President Obama might just be getting it right on how to cut congressional spending since he has chosen to ignore Congress, those elected by the voters of this country.

At last count that is 435 representatives and 100 senators who would be staying home. The savings would be immense. No more airfare or per diem for dinners they don't eat because some lobbyist is buying theirs. Think of the cutback on congressional aides since the congressmen and women won't be in D.C. anymore.

The representatives and senators would even get to spend more time with their constituents and have the time to answer their own mail rather than have someone do it for them. They would have the time to work at the food pantries and see how much the demand for food has gone up. Currently a lot of their constituents are having trouble feeding their families while the elected officials eat in their private dining rooms.

They would have time to visit different companies and see how the middle class is doing, you know, the middle class they are always so concerned about at election time. They might even have time to sit down with that same middle class family and see how they work their budget.

Junior might need new sneakers but if the family doesn't have the money he will have to wait, not the government's way of budgeting.

Can anyone imagine a company as deep in debt as our country keeping their CEO or board of directors?

Thank you, Mr. President, for all you have done to us.
