Naperville children's museum picks director of development

A veteran of more than 10 years in the nonprofit sector, Susan Stellmacher has been named director of development at the Naperville-based DuPage Children's Museum.

"I am thrilled to return to Naperville and to join the DuPage Children's Museum's leadership team," Stellmacher said. "I can't think of a better place that aligns my personal and professional values. This will be a rewarding continuation of the career successes I have experienced to date, and have great plans for continuing the mission of the museum."

Stellmacher has degrees from Lawrence University and North Central College, and most recently was director of major and planned giving for Lawrence University.

"Susan will be responsible for managing senior staff, strategic planning, relationship building, fundraising, (and) program development, and contributing to the growth of the museum's annual budget of $3.5 million," said Sarah Orleans, the museum's president and CEO.

Stellmacher is returning home in a sense. She moved to Naperville in 1989 and graduated from Naperville North High School. She's in the process of moving to Naperville from Appleton, Wisconsin, with her husband, Jim, and their daughter, Aurelia.
