Two juveniles charged in Wheeling home burglaries

Two juveniles have been charged in a string of residential burglaries in Wheeling, police said.

The suspects forced their way into homes on the village's east side Nov. 22-23 and stole numerous items, according to a news release from the Wheeling Police Department.

The juveniles, who police say are gang members, were arrested Thursday, and property found at their homes was identified as items stolen during the burglaries, the release said. Each was charged with residential burglary and theft.

Both were released to their parents' custody. The Cook County Juvenile Detention center declined to hold the juveniles, who were released to the custody of their parents.
