Police investigate hit and run near I-94 in Libertyville
The Lake County Sheriff's Office is investigating a hit-and-run crash that happened near I-94 in Libertyville on Thursday evening.
Police responded to a crash at Route 176 and I-94 around 6:12 p.m., and found one vehicle with an injured driver on the scene, but the other had driven away, said Sgt. George Love.
The female driver was transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville with minor injuries, police said.
The driver of the other vehicle, who police said they believe hit the first car while turning left at a green light, was later apprehended at the Lake Forest Oasis on I-94, Love said.
The crash is still under investigation and no charged or citations have been issued.
