Gallagher acquires Australian insurance broker

Itasca-based Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. announced the acquisition of Instrat Insurance Brokers Pty Ltd (Instrat) in Clayton North, Victoria, Australia.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Established in 1994, Instrat is an insurance broker and risk management services firm that provides retail property/casualty insurance products and services for small to middle-market commercial and individual clients. They specialize in developing tailored group programs for franchisees, licensees, associations, tradespeople, medical professionals, martial artists and sporting clubs. Peter Johnston, Jim Santamaria and their associates will continue to operate in their current location under the direction of Andrew Godden, head of Gallagher's Australian brokerage operation.
