Batavia
• Memorial Park, 600 Illinois St., was vandalized Nov. 22 and 23, according to police. A metal sign was pulled from the ground, the wooden post of a "park watch" sign was damaged and a playground safety sign was damaged.
• Laundry was stolen out of a laundry room in an apartment building in the 1100 block of Lorlyn Circle between 3 p.m. Nov. 18 and 3:30 p.m. Nov. 19, according to police.
• A backpack was stolen between 2:30 and 5 p.m. Nov. 14 at McDonald's, 125 W. Wilson St., according to police.
• Tools and blueprints were stolen out of a vehicle in the 1800 block of Mill Street, it was reported to police at 6:05 p.m. Nov. 18.
• An unlocked bicycle was stolen at a shopping center in the 0-99 block of South Van Buren Street, it was reported to police at 8:37 a.m. Nov. 18.
• Joel R. Thomas, 27, of the 1500 block of Kirkwood Drive in Geneva, was charged with possession of cannabis (30 to 500 grams), resisting a peace officer and disobeying a traffic-control device, at 4:56 p.m. Nov. 15 at Kirk Road and Wilson Street, according to police.
• Osbaldo Guardado, 21, of the 1100 block of Douglas Avenue in Aurora, was charged with possession of cannabis (2.5 to 10 grams) at 3:56 p.m. Nov. 14 in the 1300 block of East Wilson Street.
• Two people are suspected of stealing razor blades at 12:20 p.m. Nov. 13 at Target, 115 N. Randall Road, according to police.
• Counterfeit bills were used to make a purchase at 11:14 p.m. Nov. 11 at Wal-Mart, 801 N. Randall Road, according to police.
Kane County
• A burglar stole a 60-inch LG flat-screen television set and a plastic jar containing about 50 pounds of pennies between 4 and 5:40 p.m. Nov. 18 at a home in the 7N0-99 block of Joseph Street near South Elgin, according to a deputy's report.
