Homeless shelter a benefit to St. Charles

Homeless shelter a benefit to St. Charles

The world has had an issue of homelessness for centuries. This has been an issue that has affected not only major cities around the world, but its suburbs and communities as well.

The city of St. Charles, more specifically its residents, refuses to aid in the small but needy issue of homelessness in their own city. Although the city already has one known shelter, it is proposed that they approve the erection of another shelter to aid the growing issue of homeless residents due to the economy.

For this reason, the critical residents of St. Charles must approve of it as well. Why would they oppose it? They believe that a shelter would be not only a public safety and health hazard, but also will have a major negative impact on property value, and this makes them very uncomfortable.

However, it is statistically proved that in many cases homeless shelters increase property value due to a number of reasons. On top of that, a shelter will take people off the streets, causing less of a public safety hazard. Also, investing in the homeless gives back in a huge way because they are then able to give back to the communities, making them stronger in the process.

These reasons are unshakable proof to support the fact that the St. Charles community needs to support the construction of homeless shelter, whatever that may look like.
