Five seek 3 North Aurora village seats

Five people are running for election to three 4-year terms on the North Aurora village board in April.

Petition filing ended Monday afternoon.

All three incumbents - Mark Guethle, Laura Curtis and Mark Carroll - filed their petitions Nov. 17. Because they were all in line when the doors opened, a lottery will be conducted to determine the order of name placement on the ballot.

Anise Hesson filed later in the day Nov. 17.

Alan Cavender filed his petition Monday.

Carroll was appointed to the board in May to replace Ryan Lambert, who quit when he became chief of the North Aurora and Countryside Fire Protection District. Lambert's term expires in 2015.

Curtis is in her first term as trustee.

Guethle was a trustee from 2003 to 2005, and 2009 to the present.

Cavender ran for the board in 2013.
