Hanover Park puts 'Frozen' spin on trees-lighting ceremony

Let it glow.

Hanover Park has put a "Frozen" spin on this year's trees-lighting ceremony at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5.

The popular Disney film will inspire games and other activities after Mayor Rodney Craig and Village Clerk Eira Corral flip the switch on 30 Christmas trees decorated by schools, nonprofit groups and sports teams at the village municipal complex. At the same time, lights at the village's headquarters and along Lake Street will illuminate.

The ceremony begins with Santa making an entrance on a fire department truck.

Indoors, Elsie Johnson Carolers and dancers from the Faubourg School of Ballet in Hanover Park will perform. And Dave Herzog's marionette show, sponsored by the Schaumburg Township District Library, returns. The Hanover Park Lions Club will provide refreshments.

Village hall sits at 2121 W. Lake St. For details, contact Corral at (630) 823-5602.
