Three District 214 board members running for re-election

All three sitting members of the Northwest Suburban High School District 214 school board who are up for election in April 2015 have said they will run for re-election.

Bill Dussling, current president of the board and a member for 17 years, Alva Kreutzer, a member for 16 years, and Dan Petro, member for four years and a former Arlington Heights Elementary District 25 board member for 12 years, said in a joint news release they would be candidates for re-election on April 7, 2015.

Dussling, Kreutzer and Petro said they are running to maintain the district's educational excellence and fiscal control.

"District 214 is a lighthouse district in the community, state and across the country. The school district has had a balanced operating budget for the past 20 years and has not held a tax referendum in over 40 years," Dussling said.

Anyone else wishing to run can obtain a packet of nominating papers through the Cook County clerk's office. They must be filed between Dec. 15 and Dec. 22.
