Geneva molester sent to prison

A Geneva man was sentenced to 14 years in prison for sexually assaulting and video recording a child he knew, officials said.

Robert R. Schamne, 23, of the 1000 block of Manchester Course, was sentenced Friday after pleading guilty in September to child pornography and criminal sexual assault, the Kane County state's attorney's office said in a news release Monday.

He must serve 85 percent of his six-year sentence for sexual assault. He's eligible for "day-to-day" sentencing on the child pornography conviction. He also receives credit for 594 days served in the Kane County jail.

After his release from prison, Schamne must register for life as a sexual offender.
