Fear of decorating!
We built our forever home 27 years ago for our quadriplegic son. The main floor flows beautifully to enable Tony to enjoy every room and welcome frequents guests for family get-togethers. As you can see it is furnished for plenty of seating for our gatherings however! I have always been afraid to "decorate" and "finish" a room. As a result, our very loving home lacks the face of warmth that actually exists deeply in our hearts and lives. I would love to have Tony and every person who passes through our front door to immediately be embraced by comfort and welcoming vibes.

To help the family give a festive welcome to their guests during the holidays, an elegant burgundy and gold look was chosen. The fireplace does not have a large mantel so various ornaments were hung at varying heights from a ladder over the fireplace. A lantern with battery-operated candles and a Santa inside is placed on a wreath on the corner of the bar. A 9-foot Christmas tree is decorated with sophisticated burgundy and gold floral stems and ornaments. Cedar wreaths with a gold and burgundy sequined bow and burgundy leaf stems are hung in each of the windows. Two velvet pillows with Christmas tree appliqués are placed on the sofa.
1. A 9-foot Cumberland Fir pre-lit artificial Christmas tree with short needles on long branches; a sculptured tree with density.
2. Burgundy and gold trim including a burgundy artichoke ornament, gold poinsettias, red dogwoods, gold striped ornaments and gold ribbon with a burgundy sequined center
3. A 30-foot cedar pre-lit wreath with burgundy leaf stems and a gold and burgundy sequined bow are hung from each of the windows.
4. On the corner of the bar a large lantern is used to display a Christmas scene. Inside is a Santa, and several battery operated candles with timers. The lantern is then layered on top of a plain green wreath for added color.
5. Several deep red and green velvet pillows with a Christmas tree applique.
6. A red hued ladder with red/burgundy splatter balls, gold finials, burgundy artichokes, and gold are hung at various heights over the fireplace with fishing line.
